Woman Killed During Carjacking

TULSA (FOX 23) An arrest has been made after Tulsa woman was killed trying to stop a man from stealing her minivan from her driveway.

It happened around 5:30 Friday morning near 46rd West Avenue and West 3rd Street in west Tulsa.

According to police, the victim went outside and started her minivan to warm it up and went back inside to get ready for work. When she heard the engine revving, she went back outside and spotted someone inside the vehicle.

Police say, 45-year-old Avanna Olson got into the minivan and struggled with the suspect. At some point, she was pushed out of the vehicle and run over.

Officers believe she was killed instantly.

They tell us, her husband went outside during the struggle and witnessed the entire incident.

Police say the woman's van and another vehicle believed used in the crime were later found at the Sand Park Apartments on West 11th Street. Police later made an arrest in the case.
