OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State Representative Mike Reynolds has accepted two $5,000 campaign contributions from an Oklahoma City oilman in violation of state ethics rules.

Reynolds says he's returned the second donation.

Reynolds' finance reports show he received the first donation from Marlin Oil President Ralph Harvey to his 2006 campaign committee on February 14th.

The second donation went to Reynolds' 2008 campaign committee and was received April 4th.

Ethics rules say a candidate must wait six months before a contributor can donate the maximum amount $5,000 to two separate committees.

Reynolds says the money was accepted by mistake and has been returned.

Commission reports say Reynolds committed a similar violation last year.

Reynolds is running for re-election and is opposed in next week's Republican primary by Jon Echols of Oklahoma City.
